headquarters was constructed in 2008 for the group that was founded in
1979 by the then Group Scout Leader
Bill Ratcliff (1942 - 2022).

child joining us?
If you are interested in your child joining any of the sections of our Group please complete the Membership Application form on our Contact Us page and one of our Regular Volunteers will contact you when there is a vacancy.
Please be advised that there is a Waiting List for all the Sections in our Group. If you child is getting near the relevant age you may wish to consider contacting another Scout Group.

Parents are reminded that their support for these events is essential
to ensure that their children get the most out of their Scouting
experience, and that the Regular Volunteers will be able to organise future events.
Some of these events are fund raising events. These are vital to ensure
that the Group has the money to stay alive.
A Little History...
The photographs below are of our Old Scout Hut. It was located close to
the long gone Derby University Mickleover complex.
When the university moved off their site they sold it to some developers who wanted to build a housing estate on the whole site. Unfortunately for them our Scout Hut was in their way. After a lot of long and difficult negotiations, Bill (we do it for the kids) Ratcliff managed to get the builders to construct our new headquarters - at their expense. That's the good news. The bad news is that the new headquarters costs a lot, lot more to run than the old one ever did.
