What are Scouts?
The Scout section is for older children, usually aged between 10.5 and 14 years. A young person can
come into the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 14.5 years old.
Scouts take part in a challenging, fun, balanced programme that helps
them to find out about the world in which they live; encourages them to
know about their own abilities and helps them develop their creative
talent. It also provided opportunities to explore their own values and
personal attitudes.
What do they do?
We hold weekend camps at Drum Hill
and, when possible, an annual weeks camp around the first week of the school
summer holidays. At Summer Camp we have activities like Inter Patrol
competitions, Swimming, Canoeing, Camp Olympics, Expeditions and trips
to local attractions.
How can your child join?
Please let us have your child's
details by entering the 'Membership Application' email form on the Contact Us web page. Your child's details will be entered onto our database and
one of our Scouts Regular Volunteers will contact you when your child is old enough and
we have a vacancy.
Have you any Questions about Scouts?
If you have any questions about Scouts that your web search engine cannot answer, please ask us via our Contact Us web page.
We do not have enough Regular Volunteers (would you like to volunteer?) to
entertain parents or other people who just arrive at any of our
meetings without an appointment.
Please
be advised that there is a Waiting List for our Scouts. If you child is
getting near 10.5 years of age you may wish to consider contacting another Scout Troop.
